# Online shop product video storyboard Begin with one question a buyer needs answered. Give every scene a job in answering it, and identify the footage and checked facts needed before the shoot. A storyboard connects the message to what the camera must actually capture. Product, version, size and colour: Customer question: Intended format and destination: Owner confirming product facts: Scene A — opening question: Scene A — actual product shot: Scene A — spoken line and on-screen text: Scene B — demonstration action: Scene B — camera position and focus: Scene B — checked fact to explain: Scene C — useful detail or comparison: Scene C — props and measurements: Scene C — exact spoken wording: Scene D — limitations or inclusions: Scene D — relevant view: Scene E — next action and maintained product destination: Required footage and props: People and permissions: Product facts still awaiting confirmation: Approval version and owner: ## Worked storyboard: a bag's inside layout "Scene","Question or purpose","Film","Sample wording" "Opening","What is inside this bag?","Exact bag open, with its product size identified","Here is the inside layout of [bag and size]." "Main compartment","What is its shape?","Steady overhead view with the opening unobstructed","The main compartment has [verified layout]." "Pocket","Which pocket is functional?","Open the actual pocket in one continuous movement","This pocket closes with [actual fastening]." "Dimensions","How should I compare it?","Show the shop's measurement points with a readable ruler","The product page uses these measurement points." "Contents","Are these items included?","Remove demonstration props and show the bag alone","The demonstration props are not included." "Destination","Where are the complete details?","Product identity and maintained destination","Check [product page] for the current dimensions and options." ## Before filming - [ ] The product shown matches the available version. - [ ] The demonstration answers the opening question. - [ ] Measurements use the same method as the product information. - [ ] Props and separately sold items are identified. - [ ] Each scene can be filmed within the available space and session. ## Turn the storyboard into a shot list The bag example is fictional. Replace it with your actual product and select the details that resolve the chosen question. A clothing item might need fastening and measurement views; a boxed set might need an uninterrupted contents sequence. Group shots by camera position after deciding their editorial order. You can film all overhead details together and edit them into the planned sequence. Keep a check beside each scene so a missing detail is caught before the product or crew leaves.
